5G Applications for Army Installations

The United States Army Engineer Research and Development Center is seeking solutions for the idea generation and development of use cases that demonstrate the potential of 5G technology relevant to Army installation operations. The solutions detailing 5G use cases applicable to Army installations will be presented during a summit/conference to foster discussion with Army stakeholders and influence the way-ahead.

December Spotlight: Bid Opportunity of the Month

Sea Lamprey Trap (East Branch) Au Gres River, Michigan

Construct a sea lamprey trap structure at the Michigan Department of Natural Resources weir located on the east branch of the Au Gres River in Iosco County, Mich. The structure will be located on the west side of the river and will consist of a marine platform, trap vault, and lift system. The sea lamprey trap will be constructed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in a separate contract and will be designed to fit into the trap vault. In addition to the construction of a sea lamprey trap structure, the project will also include the creation of an access path leading to the platform and repairs to the east bank weir wingwall.

LOC Performance, Plymouth, Michigan, was awarded a $73,265,840 firm-fixed-price contract for engineering change proposal kits in support of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Bids were solicited via the internet with one bid received. Work will be performed in Plymouth, Michigan, with an estimated completion date of March 20, 2024. Fiscal 2022 procurement of weapons and tracked combat vehicles, Army funds in the amount of $73,265,840 were obligated at the time of the award. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, is the contracting activity (W56HZV-22-F-0001).

General Dynamics Land Systems, Sterling Heights, Michigan, was awarded a $23,960,964 modification (P00010) to contract W56HZV-20-C-0031 for maintenance training and procedural technical assistance to the Kuwait Land Force. Work will be performed in Kuwait City, Kuwait, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 22, 2022. Fiscal 2010 Foreign Military Sales funds in the amount of $23,960,964 were obligated at the time of the award. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, is the contracting activity.
