High Rate Aerostructures Fabrication Working Group agenda to feature U.S. Air Force’s new $500 million BAA, tooling, material and process innovations sessions
On Wednesday, May 19 beginning at 1PM ET join IACMI’s High Rate Aerostructures Fabrication Working Group leader Brian Rice, as we continue discussions on the exciting developments in this technology area!
Rice has invited Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Craig Neslen to share on the Air Force’s recent $500 million Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) that seeks to facilitate research and development in advanced manufacturing technologies to strengthen defense manufacturing capabilities.
In addition, AFRL seeks to advance future factory technology, build up the digital manufacturing enterprise and explore additive manufacturing through the BAA.
The following other presentations have also been added to the agenda:
Tooling Innovations Sessions
Babak Raeisinia, Machina Labs
“Rapid Metal Tooling for High-Rate, Low-Cost Production of Composite Parts”
Steve Schoenholtz, Triton Systems, Inc.
“Novel Additively Manufactured Composite Tooling”
Materials & Process Innovations Sessions
Nathan Stranberg, Continuous Composites
“Topology optimized continuous fiber AM of complex aero structures”
Joe Spangler, Teijin
“Composite Material Innovations for Aerostructures”
