DoD Opportunity for Michigan EV Technology Companies
Deadline to submit: Friday, July 9th
The Michigan Defense Center would like to alert you to an opportunity to participate in a DoD-sponsored study regarding the availability and technical maturity of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) Hybrid Electric and All Electric technologies for medium duty and heavy-duty vehicles. Participation includes a survey and/or interview by a DoD-contracted consultant for non-proprietary information.
The U.S. Army will use the information from the study to determine the operational and maintenance benefits associated with electric propulsion and energy storage systems for tracked combat vehicle platforms in the 40–60 ton weight range. Specifically, the Next Generation Combat Vehicle Cross Function Team (NGCV CFT) and the Product Manager for the Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle Product Manager (PdM OMFV), headquartered at the Detroit Arsenal, will be the primary customers for this study. This study will also be a road map for the commercial industry to determine how best to move Hybrid Electric and All Electric vehicle design solutions into the medium and heavy equipment sectors.
Benefits to Michigan companies that participate in this study:
– Inclusion of company name and technology offerings in the final report
– Receipt of the study results
– Wide exposure to combat capability developers and acquisition communities through a formal government research document
