8 Michigan Companies Exhibit at the Largest Defense Conference in North America

8 Michigan companies traveled to Washington DC with the Michigan Defense Center/MEDC in October to exhibit their products and services at the Association of U.S. Army Annual Conference.

The MDC/MEDC booth was a showcase of Michigan industry, solutions and the state’s high-tech defense eco-system.

Michigan’s presence including advanced engineering and manufacturing, Michigan National Guard testing and training facilities as well as world renowned university and R&D capabilities.

Army Next Generation Combat Vehicles located in Michigan and the Michigan National Guard also were on hand to talk about their offerings and needs.

The show drew attendees from around the world, DoD buyers and leadership.

“It was so important for these Army leaders and defense contractors from around the globe to see that Michigan is serious and proactive when it comes to winning business for our current defense companies, attracting new defense investment and missions.” said Vicki Selva, Executive Director of the Michigan Defense Center/MEDC who led the mission. “Michigan is often missed as the Pentagon looks past us to California or Texas for solutions. In reality, we have all of the same advantages without many of the costs and obstacles in the more recognized “military states”.

The Michigan companies that were part of the state’s offerings gained exposure, leads and opportunities at an affordable cost, allowing companies of all sizes to compete in defense contracting.

Russ Neive from Acromag traveled from Wixom to D.C. to participate. “There were several thousand attendees during the three day event that kept all of us busy presenting products and discussing applications.  Anyone looking for an affordable way to re-enter the trade show scene should consider teaming up with MEDC.  We have benefitted from their efforts for many years and look forward to partnering with them for many more years to come”

Next show: Michigan Defense Center, MEDC International Export and the Michigan Israeli Business Accelerator will lead a trade mission to Tel Aviv for the Israeli Defense Expo, ISDEF, March 2022. For more information on this opportunity click here
