The Michigan Defense Center would like to thank everyone who participated in the state’s strategic program, Protect & Grow Community Discussion.  Big thanks to Karen at Systems X for providing the event platform and running a smooth event –yet again!

One of the meeting highlights was U.S. Army TACOM Commanding General Brig. Gen. Darren L. Werner’s talk and Q&A.  He went into detail on his role at TACOM and how it is the center piece of Michigan’s Defense Industry and explained how his team creates synergy for the four-Star Level commands located at the Detroit Arsenal.  We are grateful for his support and collaboration in moving Michigan’s defense eco-system forward.

Pestilence, insurgencies and floods, the Michigan National Guard is on the job! Thanks to TAG Rogers for sharing his updates with the community.  His updates included information on the Winter Strike exercise that took place, the current status of the FMS F-35 Training Mission application, Mobility Guardian exercise that will take place between now and May and competing for the FMS M1 Abrams Tank Training Mission.

Josh Hundt, MEDC Executive Vice President, shared the state’s continued commitment to our defense missions, industry, and economic opportunities and the MEDC’s support of the Michigan Defense Center’s efforts to protect and grow this sector.
